Samrat Acharya Shri Vijay Nemisurishwarji Maharaj was the greatest
and holiest personality of the 20th century of Vikram Era. He dedicated
his life for Jainism and Jain community. During his life he gave inspiration
for renovation of Jain tirths and Jain temples such as Kadambagiri
(near Palitana in Saurashtra), Mahuwa, Vallabhipur, Sherisa (near
Ahmedabad), Matar, Cambay, Kapardaji, Ranakapur etc. Kings of the
various states like Bhavnagar, Limbadi, Gondal, Vallabhipur etc. were
highly influenced through his sermon. At the time of the great famine
in Gujarat during the year 1956 V.S. he gave sermon for saving the
life of all people and animals.
He preserved manuscripts
of our oriental and ancient Jain canonical scriptures and established
libraries at Ahmedabad and Cambay. He died on the last day of the last
month of Vikram Samvat 2005 i.e. Ashwin vadi -30 [o))] at the age of
77 years at Mahuwa. |
