Shri Vijay Nemisurishwarji Maharaj Saheb


His Holiness Shasana Samrat Acharya Shri Vijay Nemisurishwarji Maharaj was the greatest and holiest personality of the 20th century of Vikram Era. He dedicated his life for Jainism and Jain community. During his life he gave inspiration for renovation of Jain tirths and Jain temples such as Kadambagiri (near Palitana in Saurashtra), Mahuwa, Vallabhipur, Sherisa (near Ahmedabad), Matar, Cambay, Kapardaji, Ranakapur etc. Kings of the various states like Bhavnagar, Limbadi, Gondal, Vallabhipur etc. were highly influenced through his sermon. At the time of the great famine in Gujarat during the year 1956 V.S. he gave sermon for saving the life of all people and animals.

This great personality was born at Mahuwa in Saurashtra on the first day of the first month of the year 1929 i.e. Kartika Sudi - 1. His father's name was Laxmichandbhai and mother's name was Diwalibahen. He dedicated his life and was initiated at the feet of His Holiness Shri Vriddhichandraji Maharaj at the age of 16 years. He got various degrees and awards during his life yet he is totally innocent of them. He made his disciples learned, proficient and prominent in the various branches of Indian philosophical & traditional Jain canonical scriptures such as astrology, Sanskrit grammar and literature, Prakrit grammar and literature, Jain Agams, Navya-nyaya etc. Their names are as follows:

  7. Acharya Shri Vijay Amrutasuriji Maharaj,
  8. Acharya Shri Vijay Kasturasuriji Maharaj

He preserved manuscripts of our oriental and ancient Jain canonical scriptures and established libraries at Ahmedabad and Cambay. He died on the last day of the last month of Vikram Samvat 2005 i.e. Ashwin vadi -30 [o))] at the age of 77 years at Mahuwa.

We take pride in writing that His Holiness Gurudeva Shasana Samrat Acharya Shri Vijay Nemisurishwarji Maharaj, who lived in the near past and was very benevolent to us all was highly lustrous with his celibacy.

At last we hope that his divine blessing continuously fall on us from the heaven.
