Shri Vijay Suryodayasurishwarji Maharaj Saheb


 

His Holiness Acharya Shri vijay Suryodayasurishwarji Maharaj assuming the small image of Acharya Shri Vijay Nemisuriji Maharaj reflecting the same nature and properties such as celibacy, morality and sattvikata i.e. strict mental and physical observance of vows.

He was born on 19th April, 1934 (First Vaishakha Sudi - 6, 1990 V.S.). He was initiated on 5th December 1946 at Paroli Jain Tirth near Godhra at the hands of Acharya Shri Vijay Vijnanasuriji Mahaaj as a disciple of Acharya Shri Vijay Shubhankarsuriji Maharaj who was his uncle according to worldly relation. He studied Jain philosophical treatises, Jain canonical scriptures i.e. Agam Shastras, Sanskrit- prakrit grammar, Navya-nyaya and Indian philosophies. He got a rank of Acharya at the hands of Acharya Shri Vijay Nandansuriji Maharj on the auspicious 10th day of the bright half of the Gujarati month Ashadha in Vikram Samvat 2030 (Ashadha Sudi - 10, 2030 V. S.). He studied traditional Indian astrology from the well-versed prominent Acharya Shri Vijay Nandansuriji Maharaj.

After passing away (kaladharma) of Acharya Shri Vijay Nandansuriji Maharaj on the 30th December 1975 (Magasar sudi - 14, 2032 V.S.) near Dhanahuka in Gujarat. He has established a new Jain tirth-temple named Shri Nandanavan Tirth in sweet memories of the late Acharya Shri on the premise of his Kaladharma (demise). Now a day, every year 2 or 3 lakhs people visit with reverence this Nandanavan Tirth. He made Shri Sheelachandrasuriji well versed and proficient scholar in Indian oriental and philosophical scriptures especially of Jainism. Acharya Shri Vijay Sheelachandrasuriji is his important gift to Jain community and society.

With his inspiration Kalikala Sarvajna Shri Hemchandracharyaji Ninth Birthday Centenary Trust has been established through which every two years, Shri Hemachandracharya Award and gold medal are awarded to the prominent, proficient and well-versed research scholars of Indian philosophical literature, who dedicated their life to the study of Jainism.
We have great pride that the founder of our Research Institute RISSIOS, His Holiness Miuni Shri Nandighoshvijayji Gani, is a disciple of His Holiness Acharya Shri Vijay Suryodayasuriji Maharaj.
